Does anyone know what this is? It came from
my parents' garden and grows like mad. Someone
did think it was a weed which could be possible,
any feedback welcome.

:hello1: Tabatha i think it could be red valerian,i would call it a wildflower rather than a weed.
It is very invasive but bees and butterflys like it

Thank you Dave & Jan for your input. It does get everywhere, my husband split it so we also have another lot on the other side of the garden. I haven't a clue where my parents got it from.

Yes FMN, it would certainly go well in a "wild patch". I think we may have to resite it and put it somehwhere that is a bit more restrictive. It lays all over the grass and makes mowing difficult. But it does give colour to the garden, which was why we brought it back.

I had a snowberry peppib and it took ages to get rid of it
this is different the leaves may help if anyone knows
they are bigger than the snowberry so your right jan. Its a very
pretty plant whatever it is?? :P

could it be some type of thornless rose Fmn,they look like hips.?
Looks like the leaves have a bit of blackspot too and roses are very prone to that.

will get a better picture Marg if the rain stops.
Its only about 2" high,it doesnt seem to have flowers but has little seed like things on the tops of the leaves.
Quite a strange looking thing .
